Featuring an illustration from EAVA Zine Issue I, this iconic demon can be found in medieval graffiti at the Norfolk church of Beachamwell.

Much folklore and superstition surrounds the origins of this image, which is scratched deep into a column of Beachamwell Church in Norfolk. One theory suggests that this is a depiction of the Devil digging at the nearby Bichamditch dyke and barrows, where it is believed he concealed the gates of hell. Others believe it is more likely pagan iconography of the Woodwose, or Wild Man.

Either way, we thought it was the perfect design for a t-shirt to celebrate the rich history and culture of East Anglia.
